Growth and adaptability

From a young age I developed a passion for marine transportation and international trade. Its complexity, challenges and opportunties to travel meant it was an ideal career choice.

After attending international schools in Switzerland I attended University in the UK. The objective was to obtain a degree in shipping & logistics at an institution that had an international student body. In 2011 I graduated with a BSc Hons degree in Maritime Business & Logistics from the University of Plymouth with 2:1 Upper Class honors.

After graduation I started my career as a shipbroker trainee in Paris, France with BRS Shipbrokers and was transferred to the Geneva, Switzerland office in 2012. I developed key skills such as communcation, negotiation, prospecting and selling.

In 2019 I joined Methanex as a Methanol Supply Chain & Logistics Specialist in Brussels, Belgium. This provided operational exposure from manufacturing sites to last mile delivery to customers. Additional project work enhanced my leadership skills through initiatives such as ship emergency response exercise and Methanol bunkering.

In 2022 I returned to Switzerland rejoining BRS Shipbrokers to develop a new business line focused on Methanol and time charter business with Japanese ship owners. This was an entrepreneurial phase where I learned the importance of developing a diverse portfolio of short term, long term and consultancy business to ensure robustness in market cycles.

Seeking to further diverisfy my experience I moved to The Netherlands in 2024 to work for SABIC. My current role as Category Manager for terminals, pipelines and surveying contracts in Europe has added procurement skills to my knowledge of the entire value chain.

These experiences have enabled me to develop a broad range of transferrable skills to roles in financial services, cargo operations, procurement, sales and supply chain. Going foward, my focus is to further develop my leaderships skills in managerial (with direct reports) or IC roles.
